This book describes the life of a woman born into dysfunction, disregard and disappointment. The story takes you on her journey. A journey that begins with abandonment, abuse, and physical injury. Pagne believes she is all alone, thrown away, but finds out that she is protected and guided by her guardian angel. A relationship develops between this lost child and a loving protector that manifests a unique method of communication.
Pagne encounters other damaged people that become her family, friends and community. Her grace and compassion alter their destructive paths. People that she learns to trust, love and rely on. She moves through her life unaware of the impact she creates, her purpose on Earth.
Her life is filled with tears, laughter, joy and heartbreak. She faces challenges that include ultimate betrayal, loss and shame. Challenges that are only bearable due to her trust and faith in heaven’s love and value for her. Love that is reinforced by her angel. She discovers the events that led to her mother’s indifference and neglect, and must decide how much grace she can extend to a woman she has hated for most of her life. The ultimate test of forgiveness.
When she faces her death, Pagne discovers the true value and power of forgiveness and love. She is shown how her life created ripples that spread into waves of glorious influence. She was not an accident, she was placed on Earth with divine intent.

I liked the author's writing style, and she kept my interest for the most part. However, I had a difficult time at the beginning third of the book with such exceptional wisdom being shown by a child. Having worked with teenagers and children for over 30 years, both abused and not, I can vouch that forgotten children must grow up quickly. And they possess an astonishing amount of street smarts, yet I've never experienced even a small portion of such profound wisdom and intuitiveness coming from a child or teenager (even one raised in a wonderful home). Payne's wisdom as a child was so unbelievable that I put the book away not intending to return, but I did end up finishing it later. I also did not care for the angel portions of the book or the ending in heaven mainly because of so many discrepancies according to Scripture; I would've liked the book so much more if these parts had been omitted. There were several misspelled words (such as guild for guilt) sprinkled throughout but not enough to be annoying (I don't look for errors; they jump out at me). I did like the book enough to read another book by this author.Product details

Anessia Quest edition by Karen Arnpriester Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
This book follows a girl from before she is born till after she dies. I liked the story. There were a few times it felt more like a timeline as opposed to a story, but over all it was a nice story. I really liked the ending.
I don't know where to begin. It had a simple ebb and flow, which I like. The story line was excellent. Without going over everything else that has been said, I guess I just want to reccomend this read for any genre reader.
This was an incredible story of love and faith. it is important to recognize that all of our lives are intertwined and that the deeds, words, and acts that we do or do not do affect all those we come in contact with. This was an incredibly touching and powerful story that will touch your heart.
Great characters and insight into the foster care system.
It wasn't as predicatable as I first thought-there were surprises and sadness for the main character and her friends and family.
The only thing I didn't like was the part of the story of the characters in heaven and how the angels were interacting. Since we don't really know how it is going to be up there (only that it will be beautiful) I wasn't comfortable reading about this. Just my opinion.
Still, it was an interesting book and worth your time.
This was first of two books by Karen Arnpriester and although it is about abused, exploited children, it lays the positive foundation for Raider's Vendetta which follows. Of the two books, I enjoyed Raider more.
Anessia's Quest is about redemption damaged lives, so it's basis is sound. However, I chose to give this a 3 star because of the way that redemption was expressed. The plot moves slowly at times and I found myself paging through several pages of dialogue which added little to the story. The characters are well-developed, memorable and lead into Raider's Vendetta nicely. I will not give a summary - because a good summary has already been given without including any spoilers.
Although I would probably not read this again, I would recommend this for those who love "coming of age" stories and stories of those who rise above dysfunction and impossible situations.
I would have given Karen Arniriester's first novel 7*******stars because she wrote about real life issues with sensitively, conviction, and love! Exposing our nations discarded children; institutionalized, chemically depended, victims of violence, and or abandonment, unloved, emotionally scared, this author shows us how kindness and knowing Christ can heal. Throughout the novel, I reached for Kleenex, which for me seemed odd, since I had interned and worked in the settings she wrote about.
I believe this book was not written so we could per into the less fortunate lives, but so we could each, while reading this life affirming story, realize that God uses broken people who know Him to help others.
Throughout the story I found myself wondering who Anessia was and why her quest should matter to me. After reading about the difference one discarded child made....I discovered who Anessia was, and I praised God for in this novel the author shows us that each of us can become more that we every though or imagined if....
This is a MUST READ! People affirming? Yes! God affirming...Absolutely!
Always writing about choices and how God can help us change, Paula Rose Michelson wrote the Best Selling Christian self-help book "How Did We Become Angry?" That book and her three sweet Christian fictions with a Messianic twist and a hint of history "Beginning Anew The Naomi Chronicles" and "Casa de Naomi The House of Blessing, Books One and Two", are available on .
This book was interesting. It's always difficult to read about children who have little chance to grow into capable adults through no fault of their own. Being in education, we see these types of kids all the time. Unfortunately, most of them don't have the "happy ending" that these kids seemed to have.
The characters were well-written. They had issues, and sometimes overcame them. That always makes for a good story.
My biggest complaint was there was too much detail. Lots of things could have been edited out - descriptions of how things happened, the places they lived. I liked the story - would've been happier to read just about that and less about some of the details. A good book that will tear at your heart.
